Gabby's Page

11 month old Gabby with her favorite toy, a garden hoe. If I try to use a shovel or hoe, she puts her front paws around it and I can't even move the implement so I have given up this hoe for her use. She pulls it all over, barks at it, lies on her back with hoe in the air etc. It's like a circus. What do you suppose she thinks it is?

Gabby loves to play . . . with sticks and balls . . . but especially with the garden hose! (9/06)

8/7/2006 Gabby is now over 7 months old and is a joy. Because of my husband's disabilities she comes into the house usually once a day when he is settled sitting and she goes right to him to have him talk to her and pet her. We walk with my daughter and her two dogs and our mixed breed 9 year old each morning. She walks well on a lead even though the other dogs are free. In the yard Gabby will go off exploring but is good about coming when called. Her main home is a roomy kennel under big trees. Gabby is a loving pet who loves to be pet or brushed and has wonderfully bright eyes that look straight into mine. The nickname "Gabby" is a reflection of her way of "talking" in different tones and expressions which started when she was very young. Thus, she is a lot of company. I am hoping that as she matures some that she can be a therapy dog making visits to the local nursing home.

Gabby has earned her "Puppy Obedience" diploma (immediately below) and on July 9, 2006 passed the exam for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate (which has not yet come from AKC.)
